Education and Life Background Dr. Herwig completed her undergrad schooling at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. where she completed a Bachelor of Science focussing on plant and animal ecology. Dr. Herwig has always been drawn to spending time with and for people - upon graduating from highschool she took a year off of academic studies and worked in a soup kitchen and men's and women's overnight shelter run by Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charities in New Mexico as well as an orphanage in Mexico.
