Meet the Doctor

Printer-Friendly Version

I am Dr. Kathleen Harley, a board certified and state licensed Naturopathic Doctor. I earned my degree, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (SCNM), located in Tempe, Arizona. SCNM is an accredited four-year graduate level Naturopathic Medical School. I have additional training in functional medicine, massage therapy, BioSET, an allergy desensitization technique, and the use of a type of Biofeedback machine called the IQS machine as optional tools to help my patients reach their healing goals.

I place a strong emphasis on functional medicine, where the goal is to restore the body to normal functioning with the least amount of maintenance medications and supplements possible. In the functional medicine approach, once balance has been restored, ideally, the body can maintain optimal health with ongoing proper diet and lifestyle choices and little to no medications or supplements required.

Kathleen C. Harley, N.D.

I was born in Brooklyn, New York, but moved with my mother and older brother to San Francisco, California at the age of four. At the age of six, I suffered a traumatic burn accident where 40% of my body was seriously injured. I spent three months in the hospital recovering from the injuries and then the next 15 years in and out of hospitals for reconstructive surgery required as my body grew to adulthood. This experience with my own recovery as well as the fact that my parents were both health care professionals made health and healing a focus of my life. I received my bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a focus in Medical Anthropology from University of California in Santa Cruz. Loving the area and people I returned to Santa Cruz County after completing my medical training to serve the community as a compassionate health care provider.
