Herbal Medicine
Many pharmaceutical drugs have their origins in plant substances. Medicinal plants - both western and chinese herbs - are powerful allies in healing. Herbs can be used to bring balance to the body, mind and spirit. They are especially powerful when used to treat the whole person and prescribed in an individualized way to address each unique individual.

Homeopathy
Homeopathy is recognized by the World Health Organization as the second largest therapeutic system in the world. It uses dilute substances to prompt the body to return to balance and heal itself. Homeopathy treats a constellation of symptoms, an overall state, rather than a specific condition. During a consultation, you will be asked to describe the unique way that you respond to life’s challenges. A homeopathic remedy is then matched to your individual nature or constitution. In this way, homeopathy treats the person, not the disease.
While it is still unclear exactly how homeopathy works, it is incredibly gentle and effective. Homeopathy is safe to use in pregnancy and in infants, as well as in conjunction with conventional medications.
In addition to Jen's homeopathic training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, she has also completed Lou Klein's two year Master Clinician course and studied extensively with Alize Timmerman.

Nutrition
Nutrition is the basis for good health. What you eat provides the building blocks for a healthy immune system, digestion, endocrine system and overall function. Many medical conditions such as inflammatory arthritis, eczema, mood swings, and hormone imbalance can be treated effectively with nutrition. Naturopathic physicians use special diets such as elimination diets, anti-inflammatory diets, low carbohydrate, blood type and detox diets to promote health and prevent diseases. These are then further tailored to take into account individual risk factors for cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis and alzheimers. Nutritional supplements can be used as an adjunct to healthy eating to target specific health concerns.

Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of medicine that is thousands of years old. It includes acupuncture, Chinese herbs and Chinese dietary therapy. TCM looks for the balance between the organs, between yin and yang, and between the elements. Many health issues which have no clear western medical diagnosis will have a clear chinese diagnosis. TCM is especially useful in women's health issues such as infertility, pelvic pain and hormone imbalances. Strong research supports the use of Chinese medicine to boost the immune system, treat hepatitis and address chronic pain.
