Frequently Asked Questions

Printer-Friendly Version

What do the initials "ND, RPh" mean?
ND stands for Naturopathic Doctor.  Dr. Fleetwood's license to practice as a naturopathic physician is held in Washington state (#1374).

RPh stands for Registered Pharmacist.  Dr. Fleetwood also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, obtained from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia.  That pharmacy license is held in Virginia (#9377).

Are naturopathic doctors covered under insurance?
Not in Virginia, but they are in Washington! Until the licensing laws are changed in Virginia, insurance companies will not reimburse for services rendered by naturopathic physicians. Having said that, please DO submit your invoice to your insurer.  If the insurer is used to paying for naturopathic services in another (licensed) state, or your plan offers "wellness" compensation, you might just be pleasantly surprised!

How much does the doctor charge?
The cost of your visit depends on the amount of time spent in the office. The fee is based on a rate of $120 per hour. A 90 minute visit would cost $180; a 20 minute visit would cost $40. Supplements are extra, of course.

What are the accepted forms of payment?
Cash, checks, and all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) are accepted.

Do you see children?

Yes. Drs. Fleetwood consults with all persons interested in becoming vibrantly healthy, regardless of age or gender.
